My Pure Land + Director Q&A
The Festival of Commonwealth Film 2018 presents a special screening of My Pure Land, a modern-day feminist western set in rural Pakistan, at the British Museum. The presentation of this stunning debut, which was also selected as the British entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at this year's Academy Awards, will be followed by a Q&A with director Sarmad Masud.
"Lyrical, heart-poundingly tense and strikingly feminist" - Ed Potton, The Sunday Times
"My Pure Land knows what Pakistan can be–for its women, and for those of us in the diaspora seeking a deeper connection with our ancestry, despite the oppression we face in our homeland." - Zainabb Hull, Ms EnScene
My Pure Land will be shown on Sunday 15 April at 7.30pm at the British Museum.
